PM Roosevelt Skerrit welcomed by US President Joe Biden, First lady Jill Biden at Summit of Americas
Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit was welcomed by the President of United States Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the Microsoft Centre in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The Dominican Prime Minister and US President Biden also shared a brief conversation during the inaugural ceremony.

The leaders of the Western Hemisphere are currently participating in the Ninth Summit of the Americas, hosted by US President Joe Biden. Various regional artists, such as singers and other entertainers, gave their performances at the inaugural ceremony on Wednesday.[embed]https://twitter.com/SkerritR/status/1534801216768983040[/embed]
"At a moment, we need more cooperation, common purpose and transformative ideas. There's never been a greater need than today," Biden said during the opening ceremony of the three-day event.
Kenneth Melchoir Darroux- Dominica's Minister of Foreign Affairs, has also accompanied the Prime Minister during the visit.
As Prime Minister Skerrit turned 50-year-old on 8 June 2022, other CARICOM leaders gathered and celebrated his birthday in Los Angeles. President of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali, also gifted the Dominican Prime Minister a souvenir on his special day.

Pierre- Prime Minister of St Lucia, Chan Santokhi-President of Suriname, Ariel Henry- Prime Minister of Haiti, Dr Irfaan Ali- President of Guyana, John Briceno- Prime Minister of Belize.In an address on Wednesday, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit had called on all regional leaders to participate in the 9th Americas Summit, which started on 6 June 2022, and will be concluded on 10 June 2022. He added that the leaders must assess the role of the meeting and raise common purposes required for the region's development.
