Dominican government launches Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub

Prime Minister promoted and applauded the entrepreneurship culture in the country.

The government of Dominica launched the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit described how these projects paid off. He noted that securing employment is vital for the economy and citizens' subsistence.

Prime Minister stated that there is no more important bottom line than the people of the country and the government believes the future is of the country is in the hands of entrepreneurs.

He stated that we must create local champions who convert the pride into all things Dominican into consumption and long term success. "While this government has done much more for entrepreneurs than any other government, we still need to do more." added the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit stated that even during the pandemic, the government maintained its National Employment Programme (NEP), which costs the government over ECD 3.7 million monthly. The programme receives revenue from Citizenship by Investment Programme of Dominica.

Dr Roosevelt Skerrit added that the scheme assists in maintaining and securing jobs, internships for youngsters, he also asserted that it also advances the skills and increases human capacity.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister stated that the government is improving social safety initiatives to ensure the sustainment of the existing programmes.
