St Kitts and Nevis: PM Drew extended a proud welcome to the Icon of the Seas and shared some glimpses of its arrival.

As the World's largest Icon of the Seas docked at the shores of St Kitts and Nevis, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew extended a proud welcome to the cruise and shared some glimpses of its arrival. In an extensive social media post on Tuesday morning, PM Drew said, "Good morning! My dear people, here she comes - Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship. This is a very proud moment for our Federation." Further, he urged people to mark this achievement and thanked Marsha Henderson, the Minister of Tourism, for her significant contributions. "Let’s all make this an epic one. Thanks to Hon. Marsha T. Henderson and the Ministry of Tourism for their hard work. Thanks to Royal Caribbean for partnering with us," he added. Moreover, Denzil Douglas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, also extended his delight on the prideful occasion for the nation and informed communities that the cruise has finally touched the island's shores today. He added, "A proud moment for ALL of us Kittitians and Nevisians, Icon of the Seas, the World’s Largest Cruise Ship, is in Basseterre, St. Kitts, the SMALLEST Island in the Western Hemisphere. Also, our Captain, Luddell Harvey and company making their way to Sea." Notably, on Saturday, the Royal Caribbean Cruise set its sailing for its inaugural visit to the eastern Caribbean in 2024 from Miami, Florida. The cruise will make a seven-round trip from January 30 to February 3. The cruise was scheduled to arrive in Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis, and Port Zante today (January 30) and will touch the shores of St Thomas, Virgin Islands, on Wednesday.

  • January 27 2024- Miami, Florida
  • January 30 2024- Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis, Port Zante
  • January 31 2024- St Thomas Island, US Virgin Islands, Charlotte Amalie, USVI.
  • February 2 2024- Coco Cay, Bahamas, Royal Caribbean
  • February 3 2024- Arriving back in Miami, Florida
