Trinidad and Tobago: The island of Tobago has proudly made it to the Wanderlust Travel Magazine’s 2024 Hotlist of Dream Destinations. Wanderlust is one of the largest travel magazines in the United Kingdom and getting a 11-page feature is a huge honour for the small island of Caribbean.
Through a Facebook post, the Tobago Tourism Agency announced the development and said that the feature is a testament to the TTA’s ongoing efforts to increase island’s appeal and profile in the British market. The island was also recognised with the Bronze Award under the category of the Most Desirable Island – Rest of World 2023.
Notably, the feature was written by the Founding Editor of the Wanderlust Travel Magazine Lyn Hughes and takes readers through an enchanting journey of mesmerising nature trails, unspoilt forests and secluded beaches. While featuring the small island, Hughes wrote, “While much of the Caribbean has been lost to development, tiny Tobago remains stubbornly resistant to change, thanks to a history of rainforest conservation dating back to the 18th century.”
The feature also noted that all of these have been pristinely preserved by the strong sense of Tobago’s island pride and rich history of environmental conservation.
In addition to this, the Wanderlust Travel Magazine also mentioned positive exposure for many businesses on the island which includes Cuffie River Nature Retreat, Castara Retreats, Adventure Eco Villas, Shephers Inn, Blue Waters Inn and Coco Reef Beach Resort. All these unique attractions and experiences which escapes the ordinary were lauded by the travel magazine for providing the best to the visitors.
This is not the first time that the small island has been featured in the UK’s prestigious magazine. Tobago may be small but possesses so many natural gems, many of which are tucked away and are off the beaten path.
