St Kitts and Nevis opens its doors for fully vaccinated international air travellers from India and South Africa with the removal of restrictions

Basseterre: St Kitts and Nevis opens its doors for fully vaccinated international air travellers from India and South Africa with the removal of restrictions on visitors from these two countries. The decision to remove travel restrictions on India and South Africa is consistent with the decision to take down restrictions on visitors coming from the United Kingdom on September 1, 2021. This also aligns with the continued rising rate of vaccination in the Federation. However, the restrictions will remain the same for international travellers from Brazil. St Kitts and Nevis is among the countries in the Caribbean which have attained a higher number of vaccination rates, with over 77.4% population of the Federation having received one dose of Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine and with 70.3% of the adult population being fully vaccinated against the global pandemic. However, the Federation also had initiated a vaccination programme for children and teenagers aged between 12 to 17 and over 10.9% of the age group have received their first dose of Pfizer vaccine and 6.8% have received their second dose of Pfizer vaccine. Stepping ahead on their path to normalcy, St Kitts and Nevis introduced ‘Vacation in Place’ for visitors and they reduced the isolation to 24 hours quarantine with the required RT-PCR arrival test taken at the travel approved accommodations and hotels. Following the negative test result, travellers in St Kitts and Nevis can fully integrate into the country after the 24-hour quarantine at their respective place is over. The travellers can enjoy the great experiences St Kitts and Nevis has to offer, which includes experiencing the vibe at one of the local beach bars, dining in restaurants, visiting unique attractions, hiking the volcano, sailing the clear waters, shopping local craft markets or they can just chill at one of the best beaches in the region. According to the announcement made on May 29, 2021 only fully vaccinated persons will be allowed entry into the Federation. However, exemptions are still there for citizens and residents of Saint Kitts and Nevis and children who are under 18 accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians. All travel protocols and requirements remain in place for the Federation, Including submission of negative test result report of PCR test 72 hours prior to their arrival in the country. In the case of single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) over 2 weeks must have passed since a person has received their single dose. Saint Kitts and Nevis also accept the mixing of approved vaccines in the Federation. Only nasopharyngeal samples are acceptable for the COVID-19 RT-PCR test; self-samples, rapid tests, or home tests will be considered invalid. International travellers will undergo health screening upon their arrival at the airport which includes a temperature check and a questionnaire. Travel Requirements for Fully Vaccinated

Travellers are required to submit a scanned copy of their COVID-19 vaccination report Card and proof of hotel booking at travel approved accommodations.
Following the submission of the report Card and travel authorization form, once they are verified, the visitors will receive authorization of their vaccination card and they will also be allotted a KN number.

After completing the KN a travel form, the travel and must upload their official COVID-19 RT-PCR Negative test result from a CDC/CLIA/UKAS approved laboratory accredited with ISO/IEX 17025 standard 72 hours before their travel.
Submission of their vaccination card, negative test result and other related documents, they will receive an approval letter to enter the Federation.
