Sensational sprinter and Athlete Julien Alfred secured a record-breaking victory by clocking ahead amongst the fastest 16 sprinters

Saint Lucia: Sensational sprinter and Athlete Julien Alfred secured a record-breaking victory by clocking ahead amongst the fastest 16 sprinters worldwide at the Dr MLK (Martin Luther King) Collegiate Invitational.
As per the information, Dr Martin Luther King Collegiate Invitational, the 15th fastest indoor 200m run of all time, was held in Albuquerque, Mexico, on January 20, 2024.
Athlete Julien marked the Women's 200m with an impressive time of 22.28 seconds, successfully placing herself ahead of her two closest competitors, including Rhasidat Adeleke from Ireland with a time of 22.49s and Micayah Holland from America with 23.48s.
Her remarkable performance firmed her position as a leading force in the world of sprinting. This achievement is a matter of great pride for the people of Saint Lucia and will prove to be a significant turning point for her outshining career among the world's fastest sprinters.
This not only ranks her performance as the 15th fastest in the all-time indoor 200m but also marks it as the quickest in January since 1992.
Previously, In 2023, she also emerged victorious in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletics Association) sprinter after successfully concluding the year with a sprint double title.
Her remarkable season with the Texas Longhorns led to her winning the 2023 Bowerman Award, an honour recognizing her outstanding achievements.
She also stood ahead in a competitive field comprising Jasmine Moore from Florida and Britton Wilson of Arkansas as his opponents. To date, Alfred has recorded ten NCAA titles, equalled or broken 12 collegiate records, and accounts for an impressive 33 top-10 all-time collegiate performances.
After this, she is also set for the World Athletics Indoor Gold Meeting, which will be held in New York on February 2, 2024. This time, she is also expected to mark another electrifying performance from the Saint Lucian sprinter on the Global stage, leaving an indelible mark in track and field history.
