PM Drew takes pride in nation's safe celebrations during festivities
St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Drew extended his immense pride and gratitude to the nation's people for successful Carnival celebration

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew extended his immense pride and gratitude to the nation's people for the successful and safest commencement of Christmas and Carnival celebrations in St Kitts and Nevis.
PC: Facebook[/caption] Through his official Facebook handle on Thursday, Prime Minister Terrance Drew shared, "I am deeply grateful and proud of our nation because it is clear to me that the people made the right choice by making safety their priority throughout the majority of our festive season’s events." With this, he also shared some glimpses from the recently concluded festivities, including the national Sugar Mas 52 carnival. Notably, this Sugar Mas 52 Carnival was held in St Kitts from Dec 15, 2023, to Jan 2, 2024. This annual carnival festivity is celebrated by the nation every year. Further, While considering the nation's safety, he also thanked several delegates from the Police and defence forces. Who were consistently there to contribute their significant efforts and unwavering commitment to keeping the peace throughout the Federation. These officials include Police James Sutton, officers from Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Comrie, and soldiers of the St Kitts and Nevis Defence Force. "Their dedicated and diligent work this season undoubtedly raised the standard of safety and security in our country," he added. Furthermore, PM Drew also extended his gratitude to the St Kitts and Nevis National Security Advisor, Dr Lionel V Rawlins, Special Advisor Dr Edwin Powell and staff members who were there for their assistance and helped to deliver one of the safest carnivals. At last, while thanking all of them, he also encouraged the communities to continue to promote environmental peace, "I thank you on behalf of the entire nation for this tremendous feat. Let us continue on this path to create a sound environment of peace and security," he asserted. Meanwhile, it is to be noted that the Prime Minister witnessed this cultural celebration many times. He encouraged people and applauded the famous artists' outstanding achievements and diverse performances artists showcased during this Carnival.
He took pride in his spirit while noting that the 2023 Christmas season and the SugarMas52 celebrations of St Kitts and Nevis mark history as one of the safest Christmas and Carnival celebrations to date.
