Dominica government plans new offices in Portsmouth
Construction will be funded by the country's Citizenship by Investment scheme

The government of Dominica has committed to constructing an administrative building in the town of Portsmouth, according to a the prime minister.
During a town hall meeting, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said that this new facility would allow residents of Portsmouth and the surrounding areas to easily interact with officials.
“If it’s a town in Dominica, then it must have appropriate government offices. Here in the town of Portsmouth people must know they can go to a central spot where they can acquire government services,” he said.
His ministers would work closely with Dominica Social Security to plan the use of the building, though plans suggest it will also include other government departments, a sub-treasury, a post office and an office for the parliamentary representative.
There will also be an office for the prime minister, which Skerrit said means "there is no need for you to go to Roseau to see the prime minister".
The Dominica Labour Party government has held numerous town hall meetings in across communities to brief members of the public on ongoing projects that are being financed by the Citizenship by Investment programme.
