Leo Garbutt MBE has been named director of the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA).
Grenada's representative for tourism and the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has stated that Leo Garbutt MBE has been named director of the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA). Garbutt returns to the table over 30 years of local tourism expertise, supporting Grenada's tourism industry and regionally playing a vital role at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA).  READ MORE RECENT NEWS HERE The GTA says his strengths are critical in shaping their new developmental agenda to build stronger alliances and be the driving force as the private sector for travel and tourism in Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique. The minister and GTA look ahead to developing the working relationship with Garbutt and the GHTA as all parties face the challenges.  READ MORE RECENT NEWS HERE Speaking at the meeting, minister for tourism, civil aviation, climate resilience, and the Hon. Dr. Clarice Modeste Curwen said in a press statement that Garbutt is a visionary manager. He mentioned that he is confident that Garbutt would be an influential leader who can rally members of the GHTA to take advantage of new digital technologies and innovative business opportunities while maintaining Pure Grenada, the 'Spice of the Caribbean,' top of mind. He is also a recipient of the Queen's honors and the 2020 Caribbean Hotelier of the Year Award, awarded CHTA. Grenada, Carriacou is in the southernmost region of the Caribbean.
