Lawyers, doctors ploy failed as Mehul Choksi’s video surfaces using mobile phone

Dominica:  Fugitive & International criminal Mehul Choksi's Drama of being unfit exposed after a viral video of him surfaced on Indian media, where he seems to be completely fine in the Dominica -China friendship hospital.

In that viral video, he was holding a phone and walking smoothly & clearly not limping in the hospital, which raises many severe questions against him, how any accused can get a cell phone being in police custody.

Fugitive Choksi has been lodged in a prison hospital kind of a setup for over one month since the time he illegally landed up in Dominica, where he said that he had been forced to come through an abduction bid.

Notably, his group of highly paid lawyers urged in the Dominican court that he is unwell and can not walk by his own feet, so he was shifted to the Dominica- China friendship hospital from the prison.

The viral video made a new sensation on the internet after an Indian Media outlet 'Times Now' played during their broadcast.

One of our team members contacted the hospital's staff, who, on condition of anonymity, told WIC News that fugitive Mehul Choksi's was shouting loudly in the hospital as he was talking with someone.

The hospital member also said that Choksi is living a very comfortable life in the hospital by giving bribes to some hospital members.

Furthermore, his lawyers petitioned in the court that heart and brain diseases, including brain haemorrhage and many other diseases, but these all seem to be exaggerated to save him from going into prison.

Following the video, many questions arising from the Dominican court system and probably will have a serious impact on the court trails of his case, as video evidence is considered very serious in any court trails in the region.

Additionally, Choki's video clearly gives a wrong message across the world that how a dangerous international criminal, with the help of money and muscle power of lawyers, can get such comfort amid a serious trial, which can directly affect the case.

After that, WIC News talked with several Caribbean lawyers who told that this is a very serious problem. The judiciary would certainly take necessary and stringent actions against it. It would definitely directly affect the proceeding of this case.

Also, the lawyer added that justice must prevail in Democratic countries like Dominica. Earlier, he ran from India in 2018; he took  $2bn from Punjab National Bank, then he lived in Antigua and Barbuda, where he got Citizenship with his fraud tactics.

When the Antiguan government started taking more serious attempts to bring him back, Choksi ran illegally to Dominica, where he got caught by the Dominica CID.

From these tactics, he exposed that he is a big mastermind; he also created his female friend Babara Jarabica & took advantage of her.

He told her that his name is 'RAJ ' and lied about his identity.

Not only this, but his female friend also claimed that 'fraudster Choksi' gave him a fake diamond ring.

Notably, for the last many months, he is playing 'drama' of being unfit and taking advantage of the legal system with the power of money.

He initially escaped from India following the fraud citing medical conditions; later, he again cited bad medical conditions and refuged to travel back to India. Now, for the third time when Choksi was arrested in Dominica, he is again pushing the ploy of being unfit to avoid court with the help of Dominican doctors.

Mehul Choksi, along with his nephew Nirav Modi, is wanted by Indian authorities in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam where it is alleged that the Choksi-Modi duo defrauded the bank of more than Rs 14,000 crore. An arrest warrant has been issued upon Choksi, and he is wanted in India for criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, cheating & dishonesty, including delivery of property, corruption, also money laundering.
