Kayodi Satchell, a resident of Jamaica accused in the case of abduction and murder of 8 year old Danielle Rowe faces remand till April 11.The case started in August 2023 when satchel was charged for murder and abduction of Danielle Rowe.

The in-charge judge, Justice Leighton Pusey, gave his verdict regarding the abduction and murder case of the eight year old Danielle Rowe. The accused Kayodi Satchell is remanded in custody till April 11.

The accused, a dental assistant by profession was accused of kidnapping and murdering a 8 year old kid. The presiding judge settled the case of her legal representation in Home circuit court in Kingston on Thursday. Attorney Patrick Peterkin will defend for Satchell’s further proceedings.

It shocked people to their core when the case came into light that Kayodi Satchell a close connection of father of the deceased kid who is also a serving member of JCF (Jamaica Constabulary Force) allegedly kidnapped Danielle from her school on 8th of June and slashed the kid’s throat after which the Daniele succumbed to death within two days of hospital treatment. Satchell has already been in custody for 7 months after she was caught by the police on 11th Aug 2023, she was denied her bail in October due to  safety concerns as the public was deeply hurt and outrageous at the time. Her custody symbolized diligent service of JCF also came as a sigh of relief for the police as the public was continuously demanding updates and arrest of the alleged culprit.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fitz Bailey revealed in a press conference held last year in august that  culprit was an intimate partner of the deceased kid’s father who is a serving member of JCF, which made the case even more controversial and shocking.

It took police two months after the abduction to find the woman spotted in CCTV  footage moving along with Danielle, when the 8 year old was seen for the last time.

The custody of Satchell can be viewed as an efficient move of JCF considering a serving member of JCF was closely related to the accused as well the victim. This step of the constabulary force will discourage potential culprits to commit such a crime as well reassure the locals regarding their safety.
