Jamaica: 3 dead in separate shooting incidents within 24 hours

Jamaica: A 37-year-old man became the victim of a recent shooting incident which took place on Saturday night in Jamaica. He was allegedly shot by unknown assailants while he was driving his motorcycle along the Geneva main road. The victim has been identified as Ricardo Green, who was reported to be the 3rd individual to be shot and killed in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, within 24 hours. Also known as Ricky, the victim was driving his Suzuki Access motorcycle, which is red in colour, on the roadway and upon entering Geneva, armed men shot him several times. The police reports added that the victim lost control of his bike and crashed on a section of the roadway.Following the incident, the passerby alerted the police officials of loud explosions being heard, who, upon arrival, observed the victim lying on his back with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. It was also reported that Ricky’s bike was also beside his dead body. The police rushed the victim to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where the medical officers confirmed him dead. It is being said that this murder took place around 8 pm. It is to be noted that soon after the murder of Green, another shooting incident was reported in the same community of Geneva, during which a 49-year-old carpenter, Anthony Smith, was shot dead by assailants. The police officials reported that Smith parked his bike on a section of the Geneva main road and was killed in the community some 15 minutes after the murder of Green. On the other hand, the officials also said that on the same day, another person was shot and killed at his house in Crowder, Grange Hill, around 3 pm. This individual has been identified as 22-year-old Anthony McKenzie, who is also known as Bad Bad. The police have launched an investigation into all these incidents and said that it is not clear whether or not these incidents are related.
