St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew engaged in a crucial meeting with the officials of the International Monetary Fund Mission – IMF. This meeting was part of the Article IV consultation discussions on macroeconomic policies as well as economic developments.

Held on Tuesday, the meeting provided a great platform to conduct thorough discussions on the economic trajectory of the country as well as the formulation of effective macroeconomic policies. PM Drew said that the meeting aimed to address existing challenges and promote sustainable growth.

Notably, the Article IV consultation is a significant component of the IMF’s dedication to foster international economic stability.

The discussions were led by Dr Drew who emphasized the government’s commitment to solid economic management and its dedication to implement policies which will uplift the overall economic well being of St Kitts and Nevis.

The meeting was also joined by key officials within the Ministry of Finance, Financial Secretary Mrs. Hilary Hazel, and Deputy Financial Secretary Sylvia Manning-Gumbs.

According to the information, the discussions were conducted under the framework of Article IV of the International Monetary Fund’s Articles of Agreement, and it enabled the officials to exchange the views and information comprehensively.

This meeting is an annual process which includes a staff team from the IMF visiting member nations, engaging in substantive discussions with national officials while collecting economic and financial data.
