Former Carnival Princess Sherkhia Andrew wins Miss Teen Dominica 2024 pageant

Dominica: Sherkhia Andrew of the Dominica Grammar School proudly secured the crown of Miss Teen Dominica 2024. The former carnival princess emerged winner over five other competitors. The pageant was held on Sunday, February 4, as part of the ongoing Carnival celebrations in Dominica. The 16-year-old winner also secured several other titles, including Miss Photogenic, Best Performing Talent, Best Evening Wear, Best in Spectacular Wear and Best Response to Question. She was also partly sponsored by Triple Kay International, Secretly Dominican, Jojo's Styles, Rapid Response Recovery Services, Get Nailed 767, Visual Jems, New West Bridge Bar & Grill & the Dominica Grammar School.

Meanwhile, Lizanne Cuffy of the Convent High School secured the first runner-up position, taking home awards for Best Promotional Speech and Best Spectacular Wear.

The second runner-up, Nyanna Stevens of the North East Comprehensive School, won Best in Evening Wear, and Geishana Gregoire of the Pierre Charles Secondary School was selected by the other contestants as Miss Amity.

Notably, several citizens and residents of Dominica took to social media to congratulate all the participants and said that they all looked stunning on stage.

"Hats off to our two former National Princesses for their outstanding showcase at the 2024 Miss Teen Dominica Pageant! Nyanna Stevens secured the second runner-up position, while Sherkhia Andrew proudly claimed the title of the New Miss Teen Dominica. Congratulations on a remarkable achievement," wrote a user named Stevens.

Another user, Terisa Lewis, said, "Congratulations to our newly crowned Miss Teen and the entire DGS team. Job well done. It was an amazing show."
