Father brutally stabs teenage son in a Guyanese village

Police are investigating stabbing incident in Village Corentyne Guyana that left 19-year-old brutally injured by own father on late Tuesday evening.

According to the victim's mother, Poonai lives with his 55 year-old-father in the village and they both had an argument as the victim's father and his friends were drinking and making too much noise.

The victim's mother told media that O’Brian Poonai could not sleep due to the noise his father and his friends made. As a result, he went downstairs and asked them lower their noises which resulted in a quarrel between father and son during which his father armed himself with a screwdriver and gave the victim one stab on the left side of his chest (under his left arm).

As a result, the victim escaped through the garden and was saved by a neighbor who hurried him to Skeldon Public Hospital, where he was seen and reviewed by a service doctor.

19-year-old O'brian is discharged by the hospital authorities, but collapsed in front of the house gate, as a result his mother rushed him to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he is currently under investigation. While the police are searching for the accused.
