Tropical showers develop over the country today as a surge of moisture rolls in from the ocean. The tropical wave generating cloudiness with heavy shower activity across Dominica can be seen for the weekend.

In the wake of heavy rains, people inhabited in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks were advised to exercise caution mainly during the morning of Saturday by Dominica Meteorological Service.

Additionally, another tropical wave over the Central Atlantic currently has a low chance of development and is projected to affect mainly the southern portion of the island chain by late Sunday into Monday.

Gusty winds are expected during the next few days particularly over the elevated areas of the island. Moderate seas are expected during the next 24 hours with waves peaking near 7.0 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers, particularly on the east coast are guided to exercise precaution.

A tropical wave is affecting the island as it continues to pump deep tropical shower into Dominica.
