PM Keith Rowley all set to fly Barbados to meet high-level US Representatives
Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Keith Rowley will be meeting the High-Level US Representatives in Barbados
Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Keith Rowley will be meeting the High-Level US Representatives in Barbados. He will be departing for Barbados on 19 April to participate in a series of talks.
He will be meeting US Senator Chris Dodd who has been named the Special Advisor for the Summit of the Americas by US President Joe Biden. Senator Dodd is also anticipated to meet with other CARICOM Heads in Barbados.
On Wednesday 20th April 2022, Prime Minister Rowley participate in a roundtable conversation on De-Risking and Correspondent Banking.
The discussions will be co-hosted by US Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley.Besides this, many other heads of government from CARICOM will be participating in the discussions along with the Secretaries-General of OECS and the Caribbean Development Bank.
The Roundtable Discussion on De-Risking and Correspondent Banking is part of several meetings between CARICOM and Congresswoman Maxine Waters on the matter since 2019.
Prime Minister Rowley had earlier met the Congresswoman Waters during a visiting to Washington D.C. in 2019 , followed by another meeting in March 2021, during Trinidad and Tobago’s Chairmanship of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
