Antigua and Barbuda: All cabinet members fully vaccinated against COVID

St John's, Antigua and Barbuda: The Cabinet members of Antigua and Barbuda took their second jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Thursday. While other Parliamentarians, including retired parliamentary representatives, will follow suit on Friday and Saturday.  Prime Minister Gaston Browne stated that all the cabinet members are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 after taking the second dose of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine. Currently, a system of providing second doses to all who received their first dose will be added to those who are seeking to have their first dose administered on Thursday and in the days ahead.  The office of the Prime Minister informed that the four centres would remain even on Friday, and the mobile unit will be deployed on Saturday. Vaccinated adults who planned to travel have had their second doses administered in the days just passed. Since 2020, Antigua and Barbuda recorded 1,240 cases of the coronavirus and 32 virus-related deaths. While 1,179 people have already recovered in the country, people are swiftly getting vaccinated to safeguard themselves against the virus.  The country is using the Oxford Astrazeneca coronavirus vaccine received from India and the 24000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines through the World Health Organization's COVAX mission.
