CSG Patricia Scotland attends anti-corruption conference in St Kitts and Nevis, calls to stamp out corruption

Commonwealth General Secretary Patricia Scotland is attend the Anti-Corruption Conference in St Kitts and Nevis.

St Kitts and Nevis: Commonwealth General Secretary Patricia Scotland is currently in the Caribbean to attend the Anti-Corruption Conference in St Kitts and Nevis. She stated that time and time again, the conference has been proven to be an essential platform to share knowledge, experience and expertise on regional anti-corruption efforts. During her visit to St Kitts and Nevis, she launched the book titled "Combatting Corruption in the Commonwealth Caribbean", edited by award-winning Advisor Dr Roger Koranteng. The book highlights the ways in which Dominica, St Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, Bahamas, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent, and the Grenadines have made significant progress in combating corruption.

She stated that there is an urgent need to stamp out corruption from all sectors. "Urgent action is needed to #StampOutCorruption. That's why, under my leadership, I've made tackling #corruption a top priority. We at @CommonwealthSec stand ready to support member states on #AntiCorruption efforts and will continue to do so," Scotland Tweeted. Commonwealth General Secretary Patricia Scotland also met the Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley on Monday. She shared the images on her official Twitter account, calling the meeting "wonderful".

The CSG and Premier discussed several valuable insights on the needs of the Nevisian people to advance a culture of good governance through education.

Mark Brantley stated that it was an exceptional meeting and great to connect and discuss a number of issues being championed by the Commonwealth.

The 26th CHOGM meeting will be held in Rwanda on June 20 and 26, where all member countries will vote to elect the Commonwealth General Secretary.
