Man shot dead own daughter after mistaking her for intruder

As per reports, a man mistakenly shot his own daughter in Ohio. The man's wife told the police the incident happened just because of a misunderstanding.

According to the girl's mother, a man fatally shot his 16-year-old daughter in the family's Columbus home after mistaking her for an intruder.

Authorities said the mother contacted 911 around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday after the incident and stated the father had shot at someone he thought was breaking into the house after the security system was activated.

Authorities stated the daughter was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. The incident is still being investigated, and no charges have been made.
