The Opposition United National Congress will be opening nominations for Local Government elections ahead following a decision at the next UNC National Executive meeting.

Party leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar spoke about the nomination plans UNC's Monday night forum.

The UNC’s National Executive (Natex) will decide on a date for opening nominations. Local Government polls are due within 90 days after December 2. “Rowley your political days are numbered, we’re coming for you and we’ll not stop until we get you out of office!” she declared.

Persad-Bissessar said in the coming weeks the UNC will also reconvene Parliamentary arm meetings - halted due to COVID-19 restrictions - as well as hold constituency executive polls, Women and Youth arms elections and National Executive elections.

“These are due and now is the time for this. To all comers, manos a manos, I’ll take on all comers and will beat every one of them.”

The executive team Persad-Bissessar led in the 2020 Natex elections, won. UNC’s leadership election is expected in 2023.

Persad- Bissessar also said Trinidad and Tobago is becoming a Gestapo “police state” and the only way to fight it is “unite and fight them.”
