The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has celebrated the life of No. 16947 WPC Rhonda Jenise Martin, who was sadly found unresponsive last Saturday at her home.
WPC Martin, 43, was recognised as a very soft-spoken individual who loved smiling and always exuded a jovial spirit while at the workplace. Her colleagues said she was always eager and willing to assist anyone, never failing to cheer up those whom she encountered.
She leaves to mourn her nine-year-old son and her mother. WPC Martin was last attached to the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), North East, performing clerical duties. However, the officer is fondly remembered for her contributions made at the administrative office at the North-Eastern Division.
ACP (Ag.), Administration, Andy Belfon, who worked very closely with WPC Martin while being her supervisor at the Office of the ACP North East, said, “It is somewhat unbelievable that I just spoke to her Friday evening, and was given a call the following morning to learn of her demise.”
ACP (Ag.) Belfon reflected, “She was very loyal and jovial despite life’s challenges. In any insurmountable situation that we were facing, she always reassured me that things would get better. As such, I truly consider her a friend and would have never expected her death to be so sudden. I really feel saddened by this news and am trying to come to terms with it.”
