One shot while another nabbed by police following a robbery in Princes Town
One suspect was shot and wounded and is undergoing treatment at the hospital, while another was arrested following a robbery report with aggravation in Princes Town yesterday.

The proprietor of a supermarket located at Edward Street, Princes Town, reported to police that around 5:15 pm, on Saturday 5th June 2021, she was conducting business when two men entered, one armed with a gun.
The men announced a robbery, and the victim handed over a quantity of cash to one of the suspects. An off-duty police officer who was in the supermarket at the time of the incident got into a struggle with one of the suspects, during which the gunman fired a shot at him.The off-duty officer drew his licensed firearm and returned fire. The assailants ran out of the building and entered a green Nissan Almera motor vehicle. The off-duty officer shot at the vehicle damaging the rear windshield window before the suspects drove off.
Officers of the Princes Town police station responded to the report and subsequently received information that a man was observed lying unresponsive on the roadway in Dyers Village with an apparent gunshot wound. A green Nissan Almera with a damaged rear windshield was also observed parked on the side of the road.Officers responded and conveyed the injured man, a 28-year-old of Barrackpore, to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
A 30-year-old Penal man was also subsequently detained in connection with the incident.
