Trinidad and Tobago: All day curfew on 19 and 20 June
Gary Griffith- the Commissioner of Police Trinidad and Tobago, has revealed the new curfew hours for Labour Day weekend. He declared that curfew hours for Saturday 19th June 2021, Labour Day, and Sunday 20th June 2021 shall be 10 am to 5 am on both days. The commissioner of police noted that no gatherings are allowed, and the new order shall come into force on Saturday 19th June 2021. The Emergency Powers (Variation Curfew Times) (No.2) Order, 2021, states that for the purposes of Saturday 19th June 2021 and Sunday 20th June 2021- The times specified in regulation 3 of the Regulations are varied as follows:
  1. From 5:01 am to 10:01 am on Saturday 19th June 2021;
  2. From 5:01 am to 10:01 am on Sunday 20th June 2021; 
The curfew times specified in regulation 4 of the Regulations are varied as follows:
  1. From 10:02 am on Saturday 19th June 2021 to 5:00 am on Sunday 20th June 2021;
  2. From 10:02 am on Sunday 20th June 2021 to 5:00 am on Monday 21st June 2021.
Commissioner Griffith acknowledged that these measures are growing more and more challenging. He stated that, however, we must continue to adhere to the restrictions as we are working against an unseen element, and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
