Aircraft crashes near Piarco International Airport, Trinidad and Tobago
A light aircraft crashed near the Piarco International Airport, Trinidad and Tobago, on Tuesday morning, leaving two injured.

The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago confirmed the accident and said it occurred nearby the Piarco International Airport at around 9:48 am on Tuesday. The rescue teams reached the spot within minutes and took out people from damaged aircraft.
The statement by the Airport Authority added it was a flight training aircraft that faced difficulties in landing at runway 10 of the Piarco International Airport. Due to the challenges, the plane made an emergency landing on the North West of the airport.The officials said two people, including a student and the instructor, were rescued from the airport, taken to Arima Medical Facility, and received medical attention.
However, an eyewitness working in his fields told the media that one person escaped unharmed while the other was injured.
