A follower of the People's Action Movement and a close ally of Minister Lindsay Grant stood up to ask specific questions to Grant.

During a Townhall meeting, a follower of the People's Action Movement and a close ally of Minister Lindsay Grant stood up to ask specific questions to Grant. Clive Webster, who is a resident of constituency number four, stated that he only has questions for Lindsay Grant as the people of the constituency gave a job to him in February 2015.

Team Unity organised townhall Meeting in constituency Number 04 of St Kitts and Nevis, where the entire leadership, including the Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris and Deputy Prime Minister Shawn Richards, were among the key speakers.

As per sources, Webster also supported the election campaign for Hon Lindsay Grant, Minister of Tourism and International Trade and Member of Parliament for St Christopher constituency number 4 in 2015.

Webster expressed his anger towards the wrongdoings of Lindsay Grant and asked him why he failed at completing all the promises and claims he made during the 2015 election campaigning.

“Mr Grant, since February (16) 2015, we provided you with the golden chance you asked us for. Many numbers of constituents would have approached you to seek simple services and opportunities. Your signature statement to them is ‘my hands are tied, and the prime minister ties me hands them.’ Tonight, here, justify by giving us specifics as to how the prime minister tied your hands them?” asked Webster

However, Webster was reportedly ejected from the same meeting, and nobody answered the questions he asked on behalf of the people of St Kitts and Nevis.

As the elections are due in 2020, Team Unity and opposition St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party are organising town-hall meetings and public gathering to woo the voters.

St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party are getting a warm gesture by the people during their public meetings. On the other hand, people have now started showing anger towards the government in Team Unity's public gatherings. Incident at the recent meeting in constituency number four is one such example.

Team Unity which claimed to be better than the two-decade-old government of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party, won the elections in 2015. However, the Unity government could not fulfil any of the promises they made to revolutionise the nation.

Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris has not yet announced the general elections, while the government of the party completed its five years in February 2020.

Notably, the man named Clive Webster stood tall in support of People’s Action Movement when in November 2012, he disrupted public meeting of then Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas. According to ZIZ media report, the meeting was held in Cayon when Clive Webster disrupted the event.

Clearly, it is a public disappointed from current “Team Unity” that not only public, but party supporters are now standing against senior leaders and asking bold questions.
