Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Shawn Richards stated that the government has not been able to make enough progress on the issue in general of good governance. He said the People's Action Movement has served notice with the Unity Partners that the issue of good governance needs to be on the front burner.
"When we came to you seven years ago, it was one of the things you demanded, having had bad experiences under old labour. And it is time that we deliver on this promise,", said the Deputy Prime Minister. In a Facebook post on late Thursday evening, he stated that pushing the agenda of good governance is crucial to building a resilient society and it is time to pay a key attention to this issue..

"It is crucial and urgent that we reignite the good governance agenda on which we first came together. Good governance is fundamental to building the kind of resilient society that we promote," he further added.
Team Unity is undergoing some political differences between its leaders; Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of PAM Shawn Richards had earlier also blamed the government for being incapable of its promises towards the sister island of Nevis. He alleged that the Team Unity government failed to fulfil promises to the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM).While Prime Minister Timothy Harris, who is also the People's Labour Party leader, maintained that Nevis has been compensated well.
The People's Action Movement is also hosting a town hall meeting at Bummers Park on Friday. Shawn Richards also invited the general public in constituency number 8 to come together to support their representative Eugene Hamilton.
"Constituency 8 - join your elected representative Eugene Hamilton and the rest of the PAM-The People's Action Movement team tomorrow at Bummers Park for our town hall meeting. Bring your questions and concerns. See you tomorrow evening at Bummers Park at 7 pm."
