Saint Lucia receives donations of electronic devices from PAHO
Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) donated 30 computers and a printer to the Ministry of Health Wellness & Elderly Affairs in Saint Lucia

The Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) donated 30 computers and a printer to the Ministry of Health and Wellness in Saint Lucia on Friday (January 6).
As per the information, this donation will play a significant role in the sector's advancement. It will enhance its ability to undertake and conduct several operations.These include conducting research, analysing data, and implementing initiatives addressing critical environmental health issues, including storing and processing data on vectors, food safety, patient data, and institutional hygiene.
Further, these computers will significantly improve Saint Lucia’s capacity to monitor environmental parameters and disease trends.
As per the Health and Wellness Ministry, this initiative is a continuation of the excellent collaboration between the government and PAHO. The Ministry extended its gratitude to the organisation for its unwavering commitment to positively impacting environmental health.They were extremely grateful for this partnership and looked forward to their future collaborations and effective partnerships.
Notably, In 2023, PAHO donated personal protective equipment, oxygen concentrators, laboratory supplies and training of human resources in disasters and emergencies.
The organisation has remained consistent in serving a solid back to the nation and has played a major role in the enhancement of several crucial sectors in the nation's economy.Earlier In April 2023, the Ministry also donated communication equipment valued at over Twenty Thousand United States Dollars (USD$20,000.00) to the Health and Wellness Ministry.
This initiative proved helpful in strengthening the dissemination of information on health to the population of Saint Lucia.Furthermore, reflecting on past contributions, During the critical times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the PAHO has facilitated the nation by contributing to human resource training, donating personal protective equipment, oxygen concentrators, laboratory supplies, and many more hospital accessories towards the government’s response to the pandemic.
Also, Back in August 2023, The organisation presented the Ministry of Health and Wellness with an effective and vital donation of six laptops in a small handover ceremony. This was done to ensure data is stored and processed accurately for decision-making.
