Mark Brantley shared the photos on his social media accounts where he could be seen drenched in water and different colours as he celebrates the popular Hindu festival. He said it is a nice feeling to see other cultures enriching the tapestry of the island life in St Kitts and Nevis.
"What a beautiful evening celebrating Phagwah with the Guyanese and Hindu community here in Nevis. Always a fun time to celebrate beautiful colours. I thank our Caribbean brothers and sisters for infusing our culture with their own and enriching the tapestry of our island life. I even met a couple from Slovakia enjoying Nevis and the festivities," said Brantley

It is also known as the festival of spring or festival of colours. The festival is celebrated as the victory of good on evil. As per Wikipedia, the festival celebrates the victory of Hindu Lord Vishnu as Narasimha Narayana over Hiranyakashipu.
In old times, when people began playing Holi, the colours used by them were produced from plants like Indian lilac, Turmeric, Bael Tree, Butea monosperm (etc.). The playful pouring and throwing of colour powders made from these biological sources had a therapeutic effect on the human body.
