Leader of opposition Dr Denzil Douglas on Saturday received the first shot of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
Leader of opposition Dr Denzil Douglas on Saturday took the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. As per reports, he announced his vaccination status during a constituency Group meeting.
The St Lucia Labour Party leader received the dose of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine on Saturday and said he is doing fine after taking the jab.
During the meeting, he advised people to get vaccinated as per the advice of their physicians. He said, wearing a face mask, maintaining physical distancing, sanitizing hands is important for protection against coronavirus.Earlier, many people, including several parliamentarians, had raised their concerns on Douglas' vaccination status, saying it sent out a wrong message to the general public.
Denzil Douglas' colleague, Dr Terrance Drew, who is also a medical doctor, still continue to remain unvaccinated against the coronavirus. He has not given any indication on when he plans to get himself vaccinated against coronavirus.
