LOP Denzil Douglas pays tribute to economist Arthur Williams who died of COVID in St Kitts
The Leader of the Opposition Dr Denzil L Douglas, paid tribute to former educator and economist Mr Arthur Williams.
Former educator and economist Mr Arthur Williams[/caption]Describing the late Arthur Williams as a regional public servant, Dr Douglas noted Mr Williams' contribution as a teacher at the Basseterre Boys School under the headmastership of Mr William Ferdinand Dore and the late Obadiah Williams."He was considered as one of the bright little boys at the Basseterre Boy's School, and he eventually went off to the College of the Virgin Islands now known as the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), before he went to Canada to further his studies. Arthur, a patriot, a very strong Kittitian, Nevisian national returned to St Kitts and Nevis and eventually worked at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) as an economist," said the former prime minister.Dr Douglas expressed condolences to Arthur's wife, Barbara and their children and other relatives.
