Trump slams Facebook and Twitter for taking down controversial article against Biden

The newspaper stated it had received a computer discarded by Hunter Biden that involved his father in his Ukraine industry affairs.

The former vice president -- the Democratic candidate for the November 3 election -- has frequently rejected any such preoccupation.

"Smoking-gun email exposes how Hunter Biden organised Ukrainian businessman to VP dad," the newspaper's headline read.

As Biden's operations rejected he had ever met the businessman, Facebook and Twitter installed limitations on connecting to the article, stating there were issues over its integrity.

"This is part of our regular method to decrease the extent of misinformation," said Facebook spokesman Andy Stone.

Twitter announced it was restricting the article's distribution due to issues about "the sources of the materials" involved in the report.

Republicans though remained outraged by what they charged unjust censorship.

Trump, who trails Biden in polls 20 days before the presidential polls, blasted the two social media giants.

"So unfortunate that Facebook and Twitter took down the account of 'Smoking Gun' emails compared to Sleepy Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in the @NYPost," Trump posted on Twitter.

"It is only the commencement for them. There is nothing worse than a corrupt politician."

As per The New York post, the computer device had been left by Hunter Biden at a computer repair shop in April 2019.

The anonymous shop owner told the publication that after the machine appeared to have been forgotten, he copied the hard drive and gave the device to federal officials.

The shop owner passed the hard drive copy to Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's lawyer, who provided it to the newspaper.

While the Biden campaign did not deny the existence of the computer or validity of the emails on it, Giuliani has a record of dispersing disinformation about both Bidens and Ukraine.
