UK PM Boris Johnson moved to ICU as coronavirus symptoms ‘worsen'

The condition of Prime Minister Boris Johnson has worsened and has been moved to the in depth care unit as a precaution inside the St Thomas Hospital in London, Downing Street said on Monday evening, adding that he remains conscious.
He is in ICU as a precaution should he require ventilation to his recovery, officials stated, after day-lengthy speculation about the quantity of his fitness after he was moved to the sanatorium on Sunday night, 10 days after testing effective for coronavirus.
A Downing Street spokesperson said “Since Sunday evening, the Prime Minister has been beneath the care of medical doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent signs of coronavirus”.
“Over the direction of this afternoon, the situation of the Prime Minister has worsened and, on the recommendation of his medical team, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the sanatorium”.
“The PM has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to deputise for him where necessary. The PM is receiving high-quality care, and thanks all NHS personnel for their tough work and dedication”.
The choice was made through Johnson’s medical group after his condition worsened over the direction of Monday afternoon. Before he become moved to ICU, he asked Raab to deputise for him where important, officers added.
Raab said in a assertion that he'll deputise for Johnson “where vital in using ahead the government’s plans to defeat coronavirus”, including that the top minister is receiving “exceptional care” inside the St Thomas’ Hospital.
Raab stated his focus inside the new role may be to make sure the “prime minister’s direction and all the plans for ensuring we can defeat coronavirus and pull the country through this assignment could be taken ahead”.

As the UK moved into the 1/3 week of the lockdown, the Department of Health said the demise toll had elevated to 5,373 and the amount of the patients testing high-quality for the virus rose to 51,068.
