At least 37 killed in an attack at Canadian run mine in Burkina Faso

At least 37 individuals have been killed and 60 injured in an assault on a mining organization escort in Burkina Faso, specialists state.

Five kinds of transport conveying staff of Canadian firm Semafo were trapped on Wednesday about 40km (24 miles) from the eastern town of Boungou, reports state.

A military escort vehicle was allegedly struck by an unstable gadget before shooters opened fire. It is said to be the third deadliest on Semafo staff in 15 months.

The West African nation has been wracked by an Islamist rebellion that has executed several individuals lately.

The military has attempted to contain savagery that overflowed the outskirt from neighboring Mali. Semafo increases its security a year ago after assaults close to its two mines in the nation.

The most recent assault occurred on a street among Fada and its mine in Boungou, the organization said.

The organization said its tasks had not been influenced and offered sympathies to the groups of the people in question, none of whom have been named.
