The video of the incident went viral on social media, with social media users urging the police to conduct investigations and find the reasons behind her suicide.Police officials also reported that her body was retrieved from the water by occupants of a vessel in the area.
It was reported that they transported her to the Royal Bahamas Police Force Marine Unit for further assessment.
One of the boat operators, Trevor Wilson, who was responsible for retrieving Stewart's body from the water, shared this comment on a Facebook post from someone who expressed their condolences. He said, "Here's what police preliminary investigation uncovered so far: they had retrieved an adult female body from the water, and she appeared to be unresponsive at the time."According to Wilson, the woman was given CPR, following which Emergency Medical Services also responded and attempted to save her, but their resuscitation efforts proved unsuccessful, and they determined that she showed no signs of life.
