Caribbean leaders congratulates Trudeau as his party returns to power in Canada

The Caribbean leaders on Tuesday congratulated Canadian premier Justin Trudeau for returning to power. Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party held onto power in a nail-biting election on Monday. But it emerged weaker as a minority government.

St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Timothy Harris tweeted "Many congratulations to Prime Minister Trudeau @JustinTrudeau on another election victory. #Canada and #StKittsandNevis share strong #Democratic values, a commitment to the rule of law, and a desire for the peaceful resolution of disputes #DemocracyInAction "

Nevis premier and Foreign Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Mark Brantley also congratulated Trudeau for his second victory. "Congratulations to Prime Minister Trudeau and his team. These elections yet again demonstrate the strength of Canadian democracy," he tweets.

Trudeau would now require at least 13 legislators from his left-leaning rival parties to reach the 'magic number' of 170 to form a Liberal Party-led minority government in the 338-seat House of Commons.
