T&T: Singer Sherma Andrews gives handmade face-masks to COP

Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith received a courtesy call from singer Sherma Andrews and her manager, Ian Riley, at the Police Administration Building earlier on Wednesday. The Trinidadian-born, US-based singer is currently in Trinidad and Tobago to record her next album.

Both Ms Andrews and her manager expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Commissioner for the positive changes he continues to implement at the Trinidad and Tobago Police (TTPS) that have helped to uplift the country.

They presented the Commissioner with a specially made breathable, adjustable, and washable Tiger brand mask, designed by Mr Riley’s 19, 18, and 15-year-old sons.

The singer/songwriter will take part in a Father’s Day tribute serenading the men and women of the Service on Friday’s segment of TV6’s Beyond the Tape.

San Fernandian and acclaimed singer, songwriter, producr and arranger Sherma Andrews who had the note of filling in for legendary Whitney Houston to work with Enrique Iglesias on his world tour came back to Trinidad for a concert on May 31.

Andrews earlier paid a courtesy call to San Fernando mayor Junia Regrello to present him with a copy of her Legendary Lady Sings CD and to talk about her forthcoming show and launch of her new album.

She even composed a few lines of the songs on the CD featured by Regrello.

A past student of Pleasantville Secondary school and scholarship beneficiary of the Berklee College of Music where she now trains, Andrews stated she was happy to be back home, she recently held a virtual concert following the government's guidelines.
