St Kitts and Nevis: Former Premier of Nevis Vance Amory passes away in London at 72
The politician and former cricketer of St Kitts and Nevis Vance Winkworth Amory passed away on Saturday (April 2, 2022) in London, United Kingdom.

Born on May 22, 1949, Amory led a successful career of two terms as the "Premier of Nevis," from 1992 to 2006 and from 2013 to 2017. Despite this, he also held the position of Minister of Sports in the Nevis Island Administration.He was the founder of the Concerned Citizens' Movement - a political party whose baton for the present time is in the hands of Mark Brantley, who was also regarded as the most trustworthy political partner of Amory.
Amory endorsed Brantley as his successor in 2017 to lead the vision of development and success in Nevis. Since then, Brantley had been taking forward the vision that Amory had when he created the CCM in 1987.
To mark the contributions of Amory, an airport in Nevis has been named after him - Vance W. Amory International Airport, for which he managed to secure a good amount of money. The leader completed his elementary, primary, and secondary school education on Nevis island only.
Also, being a cricket lover and a sportsman, Amory always held the spirit of not giving up and a sense of patriotism which he also implemented in his political career.
Brantley - who at the present time is the Premier of Nevis since 2017, is himself considers a follower of Amory and tries to pursue his path - that is, wanting the best for the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
