Trinidad and Tobago: Intruder killed by house-owner with his own gun
A suspected criminal was killed during a home attack in Freeport, Trinidad, and Tobago.

Trinidad and Tobago: A suspected criminal was killed during a home attack in Freeport, Trinidad, and Tobago on Monday. As per the police authorities, the dead body is yet to be identified.
Police officials stated that the incident took place at around midnight 12:55 am at home in Calcutta Settlement in Freeport.
The house owner told police that at midnight he heard noises of someone breaking into the house, and he immediately rushed out of his room and saw a masked man dressed up in dark clothing- wearing a hoodie and covering his face.

The House owner stated in his statement that after seeing the intruder, he rushed back to his room, and the criminal followed him.
Furthermore, explaining more details to the incident, the person stated that to safeguard himself, he shut the door on the intruder's hands, which made his firearm fell down on the floor, and he took it and started to shoot the intruder.
The continuous fires made the intruder collapse and excessive bleeding.

Following this mishappening, the house owner rushed to his neighbors and informed them of the occurrence. The neighbors of the victim's house immediately informed the police.
After getting informed, higher officials of the Freeport Police Station, Chaguanas CID, and the Central Division Task Force immediately arrived on the crime scene and initiated their investigations.
The deceased have not been identified, and police took the body in custody for autopsy.
The probe has been started, and police believe that the intruder had entered the home for theft purposes. However, the real reasons are yet to be identified.
Police have taken the statement of the homeowner and also taken the firearm in custody for forensic purposes.
People of the Freeport area are terrified of the incident while the officials ensured them of safety.
