Dominica to construct 1,000 climate-homes in 2022
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit said more than 1,000 climate-resilient homes will be constructed in Dominica this year.

Discussing the significant International Airport Project, he said the government would be signing a contract "for the construction to begin" at the end of this month.
"The international airport has the potential to transform the economy of our country and place it on a progressive path to development for the benefit of current and future generations," said PM Skerrit. Skerrit said tourism stakeholders are benefiting from the direct flights from Miami, USA. He said there has been an increase in hotel bookings after American Airlines declared to commence daily flights to Dominica.[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsuSTky7g1I[/embed]
Furthermore, PM also noted that 31 climate-resilient homes at Wesley are on the verge of completion. He said more than 1,000 climate-resilient homes will be constructed in Dominica this year.
He also stated that Dominica successfully managed to get a $30 million loan from the Caribbean Development Bank for lending to micro, small and medium-scale enterprises. PM said it was the government's decision to use the loan funds to support small businesses."The first trench of the funds were made available on very concessionary terms to our business owners whose operations we know have taken a hit from this pandemic as minister for finance; I found it fitting that these funds should go towards assisting businesses to get back to the feet, recoup their losses and rebuild for the future certainly this is great news for, our business community." said the PM
