We are united as a coalition, says St Kitts and Nevis PM
In power for almost three years

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Timothy Harris has stressed that his coalition government remains united in spite of people believing it would fail to last.
The Team Unity administration – made up of the Peoples Action Movement, the Peoples Labour Party and the Concerned Citizens Movement – took power in February 2015, less than two years since the separate parties came under one umbrella.
They defeated the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party and Denzil Douglas, who had been prime minister since 1995.
“We know not everyone fully believed that Team Unity would have happened. Some said it would never happen and yet it did. Some said we would not last for three weeks, then six weeks, then six months and yet we are continuing,” said Harris.
“People voted for us to bring a resolution to the shift system that existed at Basseterre High, and thanks to the instrumentality of the deputy prime minister [Shawn Richards], within one year we brought an end to the shift system in Basseterre High – people voted for that.
"People voted for us to bring a brand new Basseterre High School [and] we are budgeting for it to start in 2018. And in every sector we could boast about the things that people voted for and people are receiving.
The prime minister thanked his cabinet colleagues, who he described as a "strong team", and said that those who are looking for a fracture in the colalition are in for a "very, very long wait."
