As the prestigious ICC Trophy arrived in Saint Lucia on Friday, the tourism officials expressed their excitement as the island eagerly awaits the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup. The cricket tournament is all set to take place from June 15 to 24 in the island nation.
The island nation is all set to host six matches during the Caribbean leg of the upcoming tournament at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.The trophy made its way to the Governor General’s Residence on Friday, April 19 and was accompanied by esteemed delegates including the Sports Minister Kenson Casimir and cricket legend Johnson Charles. It was graciously carried by the ICC Ambassador of Saint Lucia and past two-time Cricket World Cup Champion Darren Sammy OBE.

Between April 12 and 20, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy travelled to Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda and Saint Lucia. It will now return in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana between May 16 to 24.
The six West Indies host venues welcomed the T20 cricket’s biggest global prize to the Caribbean throughout the week.
