Royal Caribbean cruises suspended for an extra month due to coronavirus, company says

Royal Caribbean Cruises has pushed back to a minimum of May when its ships will sail again.

On Tuesday, Royal Caribbean, which suspended the sailings of its global fleet because of the coronavirus, said ships would resume navigation on May 12. the corporate originally announced on March 14 that it'd cancel cruise services until April 11.

For Alaska, Canada and geographical area cruises, sailings will commence on Dominion Day thanks to port closures, the corporate said.

“We are working with our guests to deal with this disruption to their vacations, and that we are genuinely sorry their inconvenience. We also are working with our crew to prepared the problems this decision presents for them,” Royal Caribbean said in an exceeding statement.

Carnival Cruise Line told the Miami Herald that the corporate would decide by March 27 on whether to increase its cruise cancellations. The corporate encouraged guests and travel agents to look at for emails and check its website. Carnival said on March 13 that it'd cancel all of its cruises for 30 days.

Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line and MSC Cruises didn't answer the Miami Herald on whether or not they would extend the suspension of their sailings.
