The organisers of this annual event have had nothing but great feedback from all the swimmers with many having booked for next year already.
The event was started by Premier Mark Brantley, who was present on the ground at Oualie Beach Nevis to mark the official beginning of the event. While sharing glimpses of the event on his official Facebook account, Premier Brantley said, “Such an incredible sight this morning at the annual staging of the Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim. My heartiest congratulations to Jane Hansom and her team for putting on this incredible event. If you missed it this year, make sure to book early for next year.”The organisers also thanked both Nevis and St Kitts Tourism authorities, the sponsors, and especially all the volunteers who gave those swimmers memories that will last a lifetime.
The swimmers from around the world left Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center to swim to the finish line at Spice Mill Restaurant in St Kitts.
Apart from the 300 swimmers, 20 land volunteers, 54 kayak volunteers and 17 boats and their crew helped in making the event a huge success.
At the end of the event, winners were honoured with accolades and prizes, while the participants were also given plaques, marking the end of the exciting event.
