PM Skerrit predicts DLPs victory in upcoming general elections
Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica has predicted that his ruling Dominica Labour Party will win the upcoming general elections that are constitutionally due by the year 2020.

As per the information reported by the Caribbean News Agency (CANA), Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica has predicted that his ruling Dominica Labour Party will win the upcoming general elections that are constitutionally due by the year 2020.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Dr. Rooseveltt Skerrit spoke at a town hall meeting in the west coast village of Mahaut where he discussed the recently passed budget of the country. The budget of EC$1.02 billion was presented in the parliament of Dominica on 30th of July, 2019. According to information, this budget is claimed to be the biggest budget of the country after independence.
Skerrit said he is optimistic that his party will succeed in winning more seats than previous year elections. It is notable that in the general elections of 2014 Dominica Labour Party won 15 seats out of the total 21 seats in the parliament. PM also said that his party could also be victorious in the Marigot constituency which is represented in Parliament by Opposition Leader Lennox Linton.
Skerrit said on Sunday, 18th of August Dominica Labour Party will be launching its candidate for Marigot constituency, the launch event of candidate Gregory Riviere. the party would be in a better position to gauge what the results could be.
He said, “Based on what I am hearing coming from Marigot, when I get there on Sunday, I will know how we stand out there. But based on what I am hearing in Marigot it is 50-50”.
In addition to that PM said, In general elections of 2014, we won 15 seats but today morning I checked how many seats Dominica Labour Party is going to win in upcoming elections, I count 19 out of the total 21 seats in the parliament.”
