Plane crashes into sea after leaving Antigua

Two people have been rescued after their small plane crashed at sea shortly after taking off from Antigua yesterday.
WIC News understands that the pair, which included the pilot, are rescued after being spotted by a US helicopter, although one source said that an American medical ship picked them up.The plane, which was reportedly a Cessna 172 single-engine aircraft, was heading to Guadeloupe.
It took off early in the afternoon and the two were found at about 5pm local time.
Specific details about the difficulties encountered, which occurred outside of Antiguan airspace, have not been revealed.
