Dominica Labour Party organised a 'Victory Rally' in Windsor Park Stadium, Roseau on Saturday night. The rally in which famous singers performed to entertain the public had a broad audience from all around the nation.
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit acknowledged the support of every Dominican who contributed in the massive victory of Dominica Labour Party in general elections held on December 6.
"I express on behalf of the Dominica Labour Party our profound gratitude and thanks to all of you, and I applaud all of you for putting Dominica first and ensuring that we can secure the future of our children and our country," added PM Skerrit.
Further Prime Minister Skerrit stated that he accepted the responsibility to be the Prime Minister of Dominica with the greatest of humility and all members of DLP must stand and walk in humility, must always stay close to people who have trusted their future in DLP's hands.
"The people of Dominica are intelligent people, and we are peaceful people and loving people," added Dr Skerrit.
In his address during the victory rally at Roseau, Prime Minister also stated that all the rallies conducted by Dominica Labour Party during election campaigning were peaceful because 'labour is love.'
The leader said that the world had changed dramatically over the last fifteen years, so we have to stand united as people if we are to achieve the objects and goals that we have set for ourselves.
"I want to thanks all of you for the prayers that you show on to me personally and of course to all the other candidates of Dominica Labour Party, and I get my energy from you the Labourites," added PM Skerrit.
PM Skerrit stated that he has always had people of Dominica holding his back and he was never alone in his battle.
In addition to that, he stated, "Our party is the only party in the Caribbean that won the fifth consecutive term."
"In me, you have a friend and a defender, and someone who will always be there for Dominicans and with Dominicans," stated PM Roosevelt Skerrit.
