LIAT offering ‘limited operations’ for hurricane-hit islands

Dominica, Sint Maarten and Tortola connected

Regional airline LIAT has announced a short-term schedule of flights to take people from islands ravaged by September’s two category five hurricanes.

A number of flights have been planned to take people from Dominica, Tortola and Sint Maarten until 7 October.

“At this time LIAT is unable to carry commercial passengers into Dominica and St. Maarten,” the airline said in a statement.

“LIAT is now able to take limited passengers into Tortola, BVI.”

To enter Tortola, passengers must be either a resident or citizen of the British Virgin Islands, holder of a valid work permit or a property owner, LIAT added.

Monday, 2 Oct: LI624 Dominica to Antigua

Tuesday, 3 Oct: LI601 Dominica to Barbados

Tuesday, 3 Oct: LI319 Tortola to Antigua

Wednesday, 4 Oct: LI329 Sint Maarten to Antigua

Wednesday, 4 Oct: LI624 Dominica to Antigua

Thursday, 5 Oct: LI601 Dominica to Barbados

Thursday, 5 Oct: LI319 Tortola to Antigua

Friday, 6 Oct: LI624 Dominica to Antigua

Saturday, 7 Oct: LI601 Dominica to Barbados

LIAT has said that they will carry only relief supplies as cargo into these destinations.

Relief supplies destined to Tortola and Dominica must be addressed to the government of the British Virgin Islands and the Commonwealth of Dominica.
