Leaders to welcome Icon of the Seas with 'A Taste of St Kitts' event today

As St Kitts and Nevis is all set to welcome the World's Largest Ship - Icon of the Seas, to its shores today, the leaders are preparing and are thrilled to welcome the iconic cruise with "A Taste of St Kitts". The event will be held at the National Museum Apron at Port Zante.

The Federation's leaders will be welcoming the cruise at 6 am with huge celebrations. The Tourism Ministry is hosting 'A Taste of St Kitts' especially to mark this major milestone in the cruise tourism industry of St Kitts and Nevis.

St Kitts will be the first stop for the cruise ship as it begins its inaugural journey to the Caribbean region.

The cruise passengers will get the chance to experience the tantalising tastes of the local cuisine along with the rhythmic beats of the traditional music while immersing themselves in the colourful tapestry of the island's heritage.

The arrival of the Icon of the Seas will be a day dedicated to Kittitian Vibes, which will include entertainment, local food and beverages and cultural performances. So we're rolling out everything, rolling out the red carpet, and we can't wait." In addition to this, Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley also expressed his excitement in welcoming the cruise. He said, "I am thrilled about the excitement that the world's largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, brings to our shores today, Tuesday, January 30, 2024."

Minister Hanley also appreciated Marsha Henderson and her team for bringing the huge vessel to the island's shores. He said, "This historic stop at St. Kitts and Nevis reflects the hard work of our Ministry of Tourism and various stakeholders, enhancing the cruise industry's profile and benefiting our tourism."

He said that he appreciates the dedication of hardworking tourism Minister Marsha Henderson, who led this effort with vigour while maintaining tourism's global reputation.

It is to be noted that this historic visit of the world's largest cruise ship is a positive development for St Kitts and Nevis, and the island is committed to enhancing its tourism product.

Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Denzil Douglas, expressed his thrill and said, "Basseterre, Port Zante will come alive once again with hundreds of Fun Seekers from the World's Largest Cruise Ship, Icon of the Seas."
