Front runner in upcoming general elections, Dominica Labour Party launched its final candidate in Dominica’s parliamentarian elections turning the capital city in red. On Saturday evening, the massive participation of people of Dominica clearly indicated that DLP government will keep on its winning streak in upcoming elections.
The event was organised to launch Melissa Skerrit, wife of DLP political leader Dr Roosevelt Skerrit for the constituency of Roseau Central. The event was named as campaign uplift and the party succeeded to gain the desired support after the event.
The streets of Roseau city were filled with supporters of the Dominica Labour Party wearing red clothes. The historical event re-energised people of Dominica in support of development and upliftment of the country with DLP in the government.
During his address, DLP political leader Dr Roosevelt Skerrit said that the global community is tonight looking on in admiration at the Commonwealth of Dominica. “Many are pontificating on the type of phenomenal transformation that could come about in this country if we were to remain on the same track for the next 10 years or so.”
Dr Skerrit also emphasised on the development goals which had to be halted due to election process in Dominica, “If there were no elections around the corner, the CHINA-DOMINICA Friendship Hospital would be completed and become fully operational; offering advanced care to residents of Dominica and nearby islands. That too, is a fact!”
“If there were no elections on the horizon, the contract for the new international airport at Woodford Hill would be signed without delay, and work would commence by Easter of 2020 on this spanking new project. And that, too, is a fact!” he added.
